When air flows through the devices, a microprocessor is activated prompting an internal atomizer to inject tiny droplets into the airflow. This results in a nicotine concentrated vapor mist, which is then inhaled by the user. The propylene glycol is combined to the mist to better resemble the taste, feel and temperature of normal cigarette smoke.
